Were the blank lines in the middle of the document, or at the end?

Do you know about the Margin Command? SignWriter will move signs down
a little temporarily, to make space for another sign while you are
typing. When you are done inserting the new sign, you then need to
type Alt-M for Margin, to move the lines back up again...to fix the
Margins.

You can find a description of the Margin Command in your SignWriter
Notebook, in the third and fourth manuals. Try that first. Then write
again if you can't figure it out.
