Subject: Message #1 from Brazil...

Hello everyone!
We have work in Brazil with SignWriting. The teacher Marianne Stumpf is teaching SignWriting to students from the levels equivalent to junior and high schools. She begins to notice some things that I think to be important to discuss on the list. Marianne accepted to have her comments translated to English and posted in the list.

They are the following:
1) the students from high school are learning SignWriting faster than the young students. This seems to be related with the knowledge of sign language;
2) some students don't enjoy to write in SignWriting;
3) it seems that SignWriting needs to be simplified because there are too much symbols and this is difficult to remember when people are writing.

Marianne's last comment:
I hope that you can solve these problems!
