Teaching SignWriting to Deaf Children
Later
on we did a 'handshape contest' on a gameboard I
made myself.
It has 30 spaces, the numbers on the spaces are
in SignWriting. The children each get a pawn. They
throw the dice and move their pawn. Everytime they
hit a space they take 1 or 2 cards (one pink - handshape,
and/or one purple - oriëntation) They look
at the handshape and the oriëntation, and then
give a sign that contains these items.
